Deception is a demons greatest tool. Intelligent hauntings do not have the ability to mimic people, animals, or objects. Demons however, can take on many forms. They can present themselves as someone you know who is alive or dead. They can also sound like someone you know. A demonic haunting is the most common type of haunting that openly and obviously utilizes deception to gain confidence and entry into someone's body, heart, mind, and soul.
Strange sounds such as growls, scratching in the walls, voices that you cannot understand or voices that seem to talk in a foreign language are warning signs. However, not every strange sound you hear is related to a demonic haunting or a haunting at all. Always look for the logical explanation.
The number one difference between a demonic haunting or any type of haunting and mental illness is that there is activity that happens in front of others and it can be documented by others. Objects moving across the room, unexplained bangs, footsteps, or voices that can be documented and verified that it is happening are signs of a HAUNTING.....NOT ALWAYS A DEMONIC HAUNTING!
Another common sign of a demonic haunting is BAD SMELLS. Often times the smell may smell like sulfur, rotten eggs, and/or rotten meat or flesh. The smells have no apparent origin, they will sometimes feel the entire home or just a small space. They can dissipate as fast as they appear as well.
Unexplained shadows are often reported during intelligent hauntings and residual hauntings. However, in the context of a demonic haunting shadow people do not actual appear to be shadows. They are much darker and appear to be more solid. Much like a solid black mass that may appear. It has been reported that they may have red eyes or glowing eyes. The eyes do not always have to be visible.
Someone who might be in danger of becoming possessed may exhibit irrational anger and superhuman strength. It will be extremely uncharacteristic of the individual.
One of 3P Paranormal's investigators encountered such deception. The investigator heard a voice call his name. The voice sounded like that of his brothers voice. After much research and an actual recording of his brother (who is very much alive) saying the investigators name we compared the two voices. They were almost identical. We believe this to have been a demon trying to deceive our investigator.
3P has experienced all of these types of phenomenon
Homeowners reported to 3P horrible smells that would fill the entire home at times just after they had cleaned the house. They reported a salt like substance that appeared in their kitchen over night that covered their entire kitchen counter tops and floor. During our investigation one of 3P's investigators smelled a smell occasionally that smelled like smelly feet or body odor.
During our investigation of the demonic haunting the home owners reported seeing such entities. The man of the house actually came around the corner of the hallway and met one face-to-face. He reported the entity seemed to be more solid than transparent. The sighting was accompanied by a horrible smell afterwards.
An increase in paranormal activity that happens around 3 a.m. to 3:30 a.m. has been noted during demonic hauntings. The activity can be subtle or aggressive in nature during these hours. This does not mean that activity cannot happen at other times as well, but if a pattern can be established during these peak times for activity then it may be worth noting. However, 3P Paranormal has noted that activity tends to increase well after midnight and into the early morning hours during regular intelligent hauntings.
3P Paranormal has no research to support this theory.
It is believed that a demon has the ability to influence dreams or images while someone sleeps. These nightmares often contain violence, dark images, and/or dark ideas. The purpose of the nightmares are to weaken the demons subjects so they are easier pray by interrupting the sleep pattern. The demon may also be able to control behavior during the dream state.
3P has experienced such claims of activity during an investigation. The homeowner reported having dark dreams of hurting his family and himself. He said the dreams were very disturbing and often times he could tell that the dreams were coming from somewhere else rather than his own mind.
If physical harm is coming to an individual at any time this is cause for an alarm. Physical harm is rarely reported with a regular intelligent haunting. Scratches, bruises, being pushed/pulled, or having your hair pulled are warning signs. Anyone experiencing such activity should seek help from a reputable paranormal team.
While 3P Paranormal Investigators have had experiences such as being touched, we have not encountered any violence.
Growling sounds are usually unique to demonic hauntings. Although there have been reports of people hearing a dog growl, these claims have also been accompanied by signs of a residual haunting of an actual dog. The growls reported during demonic hauntings are loud and distressful if you hear one. It will not sound like anything you have ever heard before.
Although 3P Paranormal has only declared one investigation site to be a demonic haunting we have captured growls on our voice recorder at a site that we believe might have a benevolent entity. More research is required before we are able to make such claims.
Often times during a demonic haunting inflicted individuals tend to make claims such as scratching in the walls, growls, blinking lights, voices, and changes in temp...which are all meant to deprive the individual of sleep. Lack of sleep makes anyone easy pray and weak. That is the demons goal.
During 3P's research at the site we declared a demonic haunting the homeowners reported that their children were unable to sleep in their rooms due to scratching in the walls, growls, bright flashing lights in the room, and loud voices. The children would go several days without sleeping in their own bed. They often slept in the livingroom.
